The best-selling cheeky laugh-out-loud novel THE PIG AND I was the first in Erica's trilogy of 'Pig' novels.
Next came THE PIGNAPPER, also written from the viewpoint of sadly childless Freda Field, a woman who adores her pet pig, Hermione, as a mother loves a child.
The third book GOING THE WHOLE HOG is written from Freda Field's mother's viewpoint. Best-selling author, Christina Jones, suggested that Erica had started a new genre to be called senior-cit lit, proving that love triangles and sex weren't only the preserve of the young!

THE PIG AND I is now published on Kindle as well as in paperback. It comes with the following back-cover warning: Ladies, the sexy night in the Lyme Regis Hotel should not be copied for fear of embarrassing predicaments with a tangerine that could have medical staff hysterical at your expense. Not 50 shades of grey, more like 10 shades of pink to be honest, but a little bit masochistic nevertheless.
Today is Good Friday 18th April 2014. The PIG AND I is currently ranked #4,181 out of over 400,000 books in the Kindle Store. Whoop whoop!!!
"The scene of the play in the school had me roaring with laughter."

THE PIGNAPPER also comes with a back-cover warning, but this time for the opposite sex: Gentlemen, the sexy night in bed with the Highland Park Malt Whisky bottle should not be copied for fear of embarrassing and extremely painful predicaments. Unless, of course, you're into masochism! And this was before 50 shades of grey - strange that both author's first names are Erica. Hmm.
An updated version of THE PIGNAPPER is now published on Kindle with the strap line THE CURIOUS INCIDENTS OF THE PIGS IN THE NIGHT-TIME.

GOING THE WHOLE HOG This is Adams' humour at its very best. You will be shrieking with laughter one minute, then pulled up short by a sudden truth.
"The love scene with Buzz was hilarious, as were many other parts of the book. Adams has a basic and rare ability to tell a story." Richard Purdue, American author of MSS.The Real World of Books. Still a bit 50 shade-ish but much funnier!!
"I laughed - really laughed - and everything was so wonderfully visual - not slapstick, just Sod's law funny. It is a well-crafted and stupendously funny novel. To find a gem like this is a very, very rare treat indeed." Christina Jones, Best-selling author.
"I was hooked from page one, totally involved in Maeve's chaotic life style and compelled to read on to discover where, and with whom, she would finally settle. This books is a rampant celebration of the life of a woman old enough to be Bridget Jones' mother, and is an education for anyone over eighteen. It will have you laughing out loud." Sheila Alcock Editor, journalist, short story writer.
An updated version of GOING THE WHOLE HOG is now published on Kindle.

THE SEA WITH DIAMONDS is a very different genre from the Pig Trilogy. It was started the day after the Twin Towers atrocity when the horror of that terrible event was still raw. Erica imagined what it would be like to be a newly married, pregnant, young woman who had lost the husband she adored in the disaster - the young woman became Angie, the book is her story.

Like any excellent novel, after the last page you flick back, wanting to enjoy it all over again. `The Sea with Diamonds' is a heartwarming tale of love, suffering and, ultimately, happiness, that cleverly brings alive one woman's fateful decision in her struggle to face life after tragedy, contrasted with another's fight for survival in the face of illness. It is packed with characters who are all larger than life: ponderous-but-lovable retired schoolmaster Tom, married to charming insightful Vera as well as exuberant American couple Stretch and Doll, who prove to have extremely hidden depths. This novel is all about characters, decisions and emotions. The characters are diverse and lively, twists to their personalities preserving their spontaneity and making all of them a delight to be with. This is an edge-of-the-seat novel where you keep wondering how it's going to end, the plot twists, nuances and surprises keep you turning the pages. Additionally there are fascinating insights into a number of foreign locations and customs. It's a delightful easy-read that rekindles your belief in the power of the human spirit against adversity, and leaves you wanting more.

A good book should take you on a journey of discovery. The Sea with Diamonds by Erica Adams does this in many ways. The central character is driven by unbearable grief to travel to a specific place in the Aegean. She joins a cruise ship and is impatient to reach her special place but her fellow travellers each have their own reasons for making this journey. Each, as is human nature, makes a judgement as to the character of the others. As the journey progresses we discover all is not as it first appears. We are skillfully drawn into the relationships that develop among her unavoidable fellow travellers. We feel her anguish, her frustration. The beautiful places visited, described so well by the author should, we begin to hope, assuage her grief and all will be well in the end. But we are held in suspense as the pace quickens towards that end. Here we have grief, compassion, hope and laughs.I am inspired to take another cruise soon and will of course take the novel with me on my Kindle and re-reait.
